Job Description

The Organizational Development (OD) Manager is responsible for leading initiatives and implementing strategies that support talent development, leadership effectiveness, organizational change, employee engagement, and performance management. Working closely with the people operations manager, department leaders, and executive leadership, the OD Manager identifies opportunities for improvement, builds scalable learning and development programs, and plays a critical role in aligning people’s strategies with team objectives, ensuring the talent pool is prepared for both current and future challenges. This position is based in the Portland, OR metro area, with a hybrid work location. We are looking for candidates who can meet the requirement of working at least 2 days per week onsite at NEEA’s office location. Finalists must have eligibility to work in the US as NEEA is not able to provide VISA sponsorship or have remote work outside of the US. Salary range: $95,000 - $110,000, exempt Salary is based on the applicants' Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. The Typical Day May Include… Designs and develops training programs for management and employees. Works with external partners to create a streamlined learning and development plan that adapts with the needs of the business Consults with management on performance, organizational and leadership matters. Conducts assessments to determine measures required to enhance employee job performance and overall company performance. Directs the needs assessment for training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company. Identifies and incorporates best practices and lessons learned into program plans. Develops learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides, and lesson plans. Reviews evaluations of training courses, objectives, and accomplishments. Makes assessments of effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance. Lead employee engagement activities that center on HR and business objectives Trains employees on new management opportunities, issue resolution, and best practices. Presents course materials. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities over NEEA staff. This position may be responsible for supervising and managing contractors. The incumbent provides leadership, direction and guidance to his or her teams and contractors and provides assistance to management in achieving work group success. What Are You Good At? Excellent public speaking, verbal, and written communication skills. Proven effective management skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Strong presentation skills. Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods. Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives. Your Experience, Education, and Skills: Bachelor's degree in training and development or organizational development or equivalent experience considered. 4-5 years of training experience, and at least one year of management experience. Experience designing and implementing effective training and development programs. CPLP credential, preferred.
