Independent Contractor .
A day in the life of the Independent Contractor -Tailor: Reporting directly to the Director of Golf, the tailor will:
- Perform alterations and repairs on garments according to members specifications.
- Take accurate measurements to ensure proper fit.
- Sew, stitch, and hem garments using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Replace buttons, zippers, and other fasteners as needed.
- Collaborate with members to understand their needs and provide recommendations on alterations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Be friendly and courteous.
- Be efficient and reliable.
Lifestyle: The tailor will choose one day a week to be onsite. Example: Wednesdays 10am-12pm.
The successful Independent Contractor will have one on one time with members. "On the side" work may also be done.
Pay Rate: The Independent Contractor -Tailor will charge a rate according to the job/alterations they perform for each member.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Previous experience as a tailor or seamstress is preferred.
- Basic math skills are necessary for measuring and calculating fabric requirements.
- Knowledge of different fabrics, sewing techniques, and garment construction is a plus.
- Attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination are essential for precise stitching and finishing.
- Flexibility.
- Effective communicator.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a contractor encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Working conditions require the ability to work in all types of weather
- Independent Contractor is responsible for the care of all items provided to them and the return of those items in a timely manner.
- Any/all items will be completed off-site and appropriate disclosures if the item(s) will or will not be in a pet free or smoke free environment.
