Security Officers shall be responsible for activities necessary to ensure the stability and safety of patients, staff members and visitors, in accordance with regulations and policies of the Security Department. Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), with an associate's degree preferred. Licensure required includes a valid New Hampshire Driver's license. Certification required to obtain within 30 days of hire includes Management of Aggressive Behavior, Certification in the use of Forensic Restraints (handcuffs), Conductive Energy Weapon (C.E.W.), and Basic Life Support (BLS). Experience preferred includes healthcare security, corrections, police, military, or behavioral health, with skills in crisis management, conflict resolution, customer service, report writing, and computer competency. Responsibilities include managing aggressive/combative patients, monitoring high-risk patients in the ED, proper application of restraints, documentation of security incidents, conducting safety rounds, liaising with Medical Examiner office and funeral directors, providing security for CHMG practices and Concord Hospital satellite offices, coordinating training, handling investigations, and managing off-site calls for service. Physical demands include lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, speaking, walking, and exposure to airborne and bloodborne pathogens. The noise level is usually moderate.
