ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Part-Time Arena Fire Marshal team member at the Sames Auto Arena. The Part-Time Arena Fire Marshal team member is responsible for patrolling all areas of property and parking lots, making sure that all doors are in working order, ensuring the safety of all guests, employees and contract labor while on premises; maintaining clear access in all locations accessible to employees and guests at all conventions or events. Essential duties include walking through the entire inside and outside of the building before events begin, ensuring all doors function correctly and are free of obstructions, checking that fire alarm, sprinkler, automatic fire extinguishing vent hood systems, and fire extinguishers have current acceptable tags, walking through the building interior and exterior at least once every hour, interacting with the public and management, assisting EMS, staff and management with any situation, and working independently to assess situations for immediate response. The position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D., ability to work with minimal supervision, strong customer service skills, good written, verbal and interpersonal skills, professional presentation and work ethic. Required credentials include Texas Fire Fighters Certification, Fire Inspector Certification, a valid driver’s license, and passing a background check. Physical demands include a large amount of walking, climbing, stooping, possibly heavy lifting, and working in both indoor and outdoor settings. The position may involve contact with hostile people.
