Senior Talent Partner | Corporate Recruiter at SEPHORA
Director-level role leading design and store design recruitment efforts, collaborating with cross-functional partners to support Sephoras retail experience and brand identity. Manages internal design teams and external consultants, overseeing activities from concept to completion and ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coach, lead, engage, inspire, and develop a team of Store Designers, while also handling some project load as needed.
- Coordinate closely with Real Estate, Retail Operations, Merchandising and Property Development, Execution, and other partners throughout all stages of the store design process.
- Provide planning, interior elevations, and storefront design studies based on Sephora design standards and site conditions; guide the team through design challenges, layouts, and storefront design.
- Facilitate and direct team efforts to develop project scopes of work, including review of codes, tenant criteria, merchandise requirements, and other design elements.
- Oversee quality control with internal teams and third-party Architects/Consultants to ensure drawings meet Sephora standards and are accurate throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with consultants and engineers to incorporate changes into final contract documents and ensure bid information is correct to begin construction on schedule.
- Demonstrate expertise in design implementation, CD development, schedules, permitting, and interaction with building officials; communicate Sephora brand perspective to external partners.
- Contribute industry insights to improve delivery of on-brand, beautiful, functional, and cost-effective stores.
- Lead initiatives with cross-functional teams and external partners; represent Store Design perspectives within the team and with stakeholders.
- Lead process evolution and implement new processes as needed, informed by best-in-class industry practices.
- Provide input to teams developing store design tools such as templates, guidelines, layouts, feasibility checks, etc.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of related experience in Retail Architecture, Retail Design, or a similar field.
- 5+ years of experience leading and/or managing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Experience with computer visualization tools (SketchUp, Rhino, 3DS Max, etc.).
- Architectural Design Skills: designing retail spaces, including floor plans, elevations, and renderings.
- Project Management Skills: strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication and Collaboration Skills: effective work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Leadership Skills: ability to lead, motivate, and develop design teams.
- Technical Skills: proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit), CAD software, and construction documentation.
- Knowledge of Retail Design Trends: understanding of current retail design trends and best practices.
- Budget Management Skills: ability to manage project budgets effectively.
- Strategic agility and organizational savvy in navigating complex situations.
- Problem solving: ability to analyze complex information, consider inputs and tradeoffs, and make sound recommendations.
