Description:

We are looking for a mid-career ecologist with a strong background in geospatial science to join an interdisciplinary team of scientists and landscape architects working on restoration and natural resource management projects throughout the United States. This position is for a mid-career member in our San Diego office, but will support projects across the United States. Full-time remote work is not an option for this position.

Requirements:

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements for consideration:

  • Master’s degree in Ecology, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • Approximately two years of relevant professional experience in ecological geospatial analysis, geomatics, environmental data management, or remote sensing outside of the academic environment.

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ecology, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • Approximately four years of relevant professional experience in ecological geospatial analysis, geomatics, environmental data management, or remote sensing outside of the academic environment.

Preference may be given to applicants who provide these skills:

  • Previous experience with environmental consulting.
  • Experience participating in field efforts (e.g., ecological or biological assessments, ecological monitoring, etc.).
  • General knowledge of the flora and fauna of the western United States.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience presenting technical information in an accessible, clear manner.
  • Ability to promote a client-centered approach and the ability to present scientific solutions to clients in a clear, professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and collaboration skills.
  • Adaptable to working well both independently and in a team environment.
