Are you an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Registered Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity? Look no further! The Avondale Emergency Department at Phoenix Children’s is a newly opened, state-of-the-art, 40-bed level IV trauma ED located in the vibrant Southwest Valley. Here, we provide high-quality, family-centered care for a diverse range of diagnoses, illnesses, and injuries.

As a vital member of our team, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary group of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. With clinical leadership available around the clock, you’ll receive the support you need to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We’re looking for individuals with strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for teamwork. Please note: This position is for experienced RNs only; new graduates should apply to our RN-New Grad opening.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Evaluate patient conditions considering age and individual needs, and perform ongoing assessments to ensure compliance with treatment plans.
• Monitor Patient Progress: Continuously assess patient responses to care and document findings to facilitate effective communication with the healthcare team and families.
• Ensure Compliance: Adhere to medication, storage, and documentation standards while contributing to team efforts.
• Orient Patients and Families: Provide guidance on unit policies and hospital systems to ensure a smooth experience.
• Supervise and Mentor: Oversee the patient care activities of team members, offering feedback and support to maintain high standards of care.
• Collaborate on Care Plans: Work with the patient care team and families to establish and implement effective care strategies.
• Foster a Learning Environment: Model best practices and provide mentorship to students and new employees.
• Perform Additional Duties: Take on miscellaneous job-related tasks as needed.
