Job Description

We are seeking a Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant to join a dynamic team within a certified MBE Electrical Installation Firm.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks and financial operations
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and general ledger entries
• Process payroll and ensure timely and accurate payment to employees
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Assist in the preparation of tax documents and support tax compliance activities
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Proficient in journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial report writing
• Familiarity with payroll processing and tax compliance
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
• Proficient in 10-key typing for efficient data entry
• QuickBooks Medium
• Electrical or Construction experience a plus
• Billing AP AR Collections
• AIA Payments Construction payment requests
• Heavy paperwork and documentation
• Bluebeam program which is a Construction program (is a plus)
